Ingredients:

  • 1 lb venison sausage, casing removed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown venison sausage in a large skillet. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onion, celery, and apples in the same skillet until softened.
  4. In a large bowl, combine sausage, onion mixture, bread, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stir in chicken broth until the mixture is moistened.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake for 45 minutes, until golden brown.
