- 1 lb venison sausage, casing removed
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- 1 loaf of bread, cubed
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown venison sausage in a large skillet. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté onion, celery, and apples in the same skillet until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine sausage, onion mixture, bread, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in chicken broth until the mixture is moistened.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake for 45 minutes, until golden brown.
